With all the hundreds of wedding highlight films out there that all look kind of the same, I set about to produce something a little different.
It all started when i heard the tune Amour, t’es là? by Banda Magda. This tune exemplified the upbeat, fun filled experience of a wedding, and i salivated at the thought of using it for my new wedding promo.
I emailed the songwriter directly, and we struck up a deal. I was over the moon!
I’m not entirely sure when i realized that i wanted someone to lip-sync the song throughout the piece, but seeing as i had had such a huge success with THIS video, it didn’t seem like a bad idea.
I started interviewing models, singers, dancers…trying to find the perfect ingenue for the project. Not an easy task by any means, and I was coming up with nothing.
Little did i know that perfection was staring me in the face the whole time…my scriptwriter Jenny!
Finally a light bulb went off, and i couldn’t believe Jenny had been right in front of me all this time. I prayed that she would do it, and she said YES!
Fast forward to the shoot day. Hours of pre production and planning bore the fruits of a great location, technojib, gorgeous wedding dress and a red vespa. Everything was in place. The icing on the cake was my amazing crew: Daniel Williams (DP) Danny Hagouel (jib operator), Steve Broxterman (1st AC), Lia Robin (makeup), Donavan Clark (gaffer), Maureen Sullivan (PA), Shannon Vergun and Frank Carrino. The perfect synergy of this crew led to a perfect shoot day. Now all i had to do was edit. I searched for some beautiful clips from past weddings and weaved them chronologically throughout the song. Here is the finished piece for you to enjoy!
A very special thanks to the Bloom Family, Jules Smith, Michael Lamper, Yoni Oscherowitz, Yuda Hagouel, Luis Naranjo, my colorist Dimitrios Papagiannis and our groom George Healy.
